The charm of doughnuts

There's a new buzz in Kota Damansara with the opening of J.CO Donuts & Coffee's third outlet at the Giant Supermarket Complex.

Folks in the township and surrounding neighbourhoods can delight in the tantalising aroma of moist, warm, juicy, creamy doughnuts found at the outlet.

J.CO Donuts & Coffee Jakarta marketing communications manager Indriana Listia Rahma said, "It is quite evident that the doughnut and coffee culture is fast becoming a part of the Malaysian lifestyle.

"We've been receiving good response from our first two outlets at the Pavilion in Bukit Bintang and Sunway Pyramid," she said at the outlet's media launch recently.

She said a majority of their customers were in their 20s and 30s and were always on the lookout for a nice place to hangout while enjoying a quick meal.

She said their outlets also provided free WIFI service.

"The opening of this third outlet signifies an important milestone for us as we intend to provide the people of Kota Damansara and Petaling Jaya the best doughnuts ever.

"Our ultimate aim is to become a 'neighbourhood' doughnut store by establishing our presence in almost all neighbourhoods in Klang Valley.

"Plans are also under way to open a few more outlets before the end of the year," said of J.CO Donuts & Coffee, Malaysia PR and Promotions manager Fazil Tahir.

Fazil also said that their range of doughnuts and beverages were unique because of the process involved in coming up with different flavours that had been developed by the professional R & D team at their laboratory.

"We use 100% Arabica Coffee gathered from five origins – Colombia, Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Indonesia, all perfectly roasted in Rome, Italy.

"We also ensure that our coffee is freshly brewed for each customer," said Fazil.

For those who have a preference for something besides coffee, you could go for chocolate, tea and fruit flavoured drinks.

Fazil added that all chocolate beverages such as the Hot Chocolate, Iced Chocolate, Chocolate Freeze and Chocomint Freeze were made from pure dark chocolate, containing 55% chocolate.

"We also cater for those who prefer tea with their doughnuts.

"Our range of hot tea includes Chamomile Tea, Earl Grey Tea, English Breakfast Tea and Green Tea using matcha (the highest level of green tea) imported from Japan.

For the holiday season, J.CO is offering its latest innovation, the Choco Forest beverage and the Forest Glam donut that is set to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

The Choco Forest is a combination of Black Forrest Chocolate and Fresh Dark Cherry topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with dark chocolate chips. The Forest Glam donut is also topped with Black Forest Chocolate and Dark Sweet Cherry with a generous sprinkling of icing sugar, enough to entice you away from the treadmill.
